Road Runner Sports was a small shop that was first established in 1990 and was up to 250 square feet. It was situated in Manor walks centre in Cramlington, Northumberland. In 2005 they closed the store that they had in Cramlington and then shifted to another exciting shop in Eldon Garden Shopping Center. The business of this shop expanded, the size of the shop outgrew and so they moved from Cramlington to Morpeth in Northumberland and open a new shop. Later they opened a shop in the main street location in 2001. This is because their shop is the only one that is a Running Specialist and have customers from places like Durham, Hex ham, Hartlepool, Berwick and Darlington. They handle their business from their website and keep their customers satisfied hence popular among a lot of people. They keep on expanding their business and feel free to meet the demands of the customers from all around the world. Lately they sent a lady in Morocco a pair of Asics shoes and they feel proud about serving their customers in such a way.

Their staff has been given a lot of training and they have kept the staff up to the mark and standard. They do not want any lapse or any lacking and they make sure that nothing goes wrong from their side. The have taught their staff to fit the running shoes appropriately and to advise or suggest on the recommended clothing for the needs of the customers. They appreciate the staff and motivate them by making different schemes and then following them. Even though they sell the running products on their website only but their stores offer a great variety of sports products too and this variety includes swimming, rugby, football, bowls, darts and many more other sports items. This is not it because they also offer and give away the football teams a full kit supply along with printing service.

Road Runner has planned to open up around 23 stores by 2009 or say end of 2008 and has not announced whether how many it would be opening by the end of 2009. There is still more to come and they are looking forward to bringing a great change in the economy. They have all what they need and they want to see whether the economic factors will affect real estate and other consideration or not.

The Running specialty stores actually look for selling sneakers to serious runners and athletes and are not like chains such as Foot Locker that go for serving casual and more fashion focused customers. They have personalized fitting services as their expertise and also the expert staff which is something that the other large chains hardly provide. Road Runner in the only one chain that could have a competition with these and this is what is observed by the head employees of the Road Runner’s Paramus store.

Road Runner Sports is a running shoe retailer that is competing to have stores in places like New Jersey and also the remaining East Coast. This could definitely make the life of those independent sellers or retailers tougher who are chasing the serious running customers.
