Sports usually interest to everyone, especially youngsters including both guys and girls. There are so many popular sports in the world which includes basketball, hockey, volleyball, soccer and tennis. Each of the sport has its own charm and all are about activity and fun. The sportsmen who take it as a profession keep them fit by exercise and balanced diet so that they can perform well in competitions. People who don’t play sports in their daily routine watch the matches on TV channels or some even like to watch then and there at the stadiums and grounds.          

Hockey is a team sport, in which two teams compete by trying to maneuver a ball into the opponents net or goal and all this is done by using a hockey stick. If you haven’t played or watched hockey yet then you must try it, you will simply love it.         

There are other forms of hockey too which varies from region to region. Some of the examples of the types of hockey include field hockey, ice hockey, road hockey, roller hockey, and unicycle hockey. There are some other forms of hockey too which are actually derived from hockey which includes ball hockey, air hockey, beach hockey and others.     

Field hockey is actually played on gravel or natural grass, sand based, or water based artificial turfs, with a small hard ball.
Every sport and game is famous in a particular region but becomes popular due to sport channels and through other means of information. Hockey is popular among both males and females of all continents of the world. If we specifically name the continent where hockey is very much popular, then Europe, Asia, Australasia, and South Africa are must named. It can be played as single-sex sides while in some countries it is played as mixed-sex sides. Whenever the status of hockey is discussed with reference to Canada and United States of America, everyone knows there it is played predominantly by women. Field hockey is actually a national game of Pakistan.

Pakistan is also popular for providing the best hockey sticks which are used in playing hockey. A city called Sialkot, which is located in Pakistan is basically famous for manufacturing the best quality sports goods which is exported all over the world.
