The game basket ball has been played for the last one hundred and fifty years. This game is dependent on the skill of the player. These are the tips which would help you in improving the game. If you look at the history, all the great players were good athletes, so this is obviously that if one has to become a good player, he must be a good athlete. The aim of becoming a stronger and faster athlete can be achieved through weight training and conditioning. Conditioning means by either jogging or running full court with the ball. The body should be in a continuous motion for at least 15 minutes.

There is a disagreement on several opinions like when should a person start putting weights. Some recommends not putting on weights when you are a child and your bones are growing because it can limit your growing bone and your height. If one is eligible to put on weight then he is still required to take advice from the trainer. Stretching exercise is also important in order to make full use of the range a player has and it also helps to run faster.

Another thing which must be learned is to properly hold the ball unless you won’t be able to hold the ball you won’t shoot the ball properly. The game basket ball is totally dependent on holding the ball. It is completely involved in shooting, passing, dribbling and rebounding. The ball must be hold between the claws of the hand and only your fingers’ end should have a contact with the ball not the pads. Try to hold the ball as long as you can whether you are watching TV or whenever you get an opportunity so that you can get the feel of it.

One more important tip to consider is learning how to use the wrist for shooting, passing and dribbling. This can be learned through practice too and it really means that it can be practiced by keeping your arms and elbow straight and by being careful in not moving your arms. Flick your wrist backward and let it come forward without any force at all. Continue doing this for at least one to two minutes but make sure that your hand is in a slightly clawed position.

Defense is one of the important positions of the game. Tap dancing on your toes is the main ingredients of defense. You should be moving with the ball. One of the most applied strategies of the defense is marking the position that is one to one strategy. The defense players of one team mark the attacking players of the other team.

Shooting is the main weapon of a player. Try to practice shooting from the close distance rather than trying out from longer distances. Take 10 shots from each side as this will enable you to have command on shooting. Some problems associated with the half ball court are that this court does not have a change from one basket to the other basket and starting a play half court and one full court is way too difficult. These tips will always be useful to those who would pay heed to them properly and without any hesitation will apply them while playing the game.
